BCNA Donates School Supplies and Backpacks for Back to School 2026-27

With funds from our last year’s annual block party and silent auction, we were able to purchase 32 backpacks. We volunteered on Wednesday, August 5, with the COP (Community Oriented Policing) Officers from the Summerlin Area Command to distribute the backpacks, along with donated socks from Bombas, school supplies, and snack bags from Walmart. LiLuna Local 875 also brought their orange trailer and grill to provide burgers, hot dogs, drinks, and frozen treats. In total, we gave away over 120 backpacks to local children.

On Thursday, August 6, additional school supplies were delivered to our neighborhood school, Derfelt Elementary School.

Good Samaritan Lutheran Church at the Lakes teamed up with BCNA to donate over 480 washable markers, 720 #2 pencils, 150 glue sticks, 2,304 crayons, boxes of tissues, disinfecting wipes, paper, notebooks, and more.
A huge thank you to all the members and volunteers who helped with this effort.
