We have applied for the Neighborhood Partners Fund Grant under the Beautification category. With the growing success of our monthly neighborhood trash cleanup events we are asking for funds to purchase better tools and equipment for safe and successful trash cleanups. We have found a tremendous amount of human waste, syringes and needles, along with food trash, cardboard and other debris.
Metal folding carts on wheels with metal trash grabbers, rakes, and shovels will greatly aid the neighbor volunteers in our efforts to keep the neighborhood safe and clear of blight.
Part of the Grant funds will off-set the costs of our four annual events; Coffee on the Curb, Block Party, Ice Cream Social and Neighborhood Safety meeting.
We hope to be approved after our presentation in June.
